Administration
I have proudly called Texas my home for nearly 30 years. My fiancée and I have two children, and we love spending time outdoors and connecting with family and friends. Early in my career, I worked in child development centers, caring for children of all ages. In 2008, I discovered Montessori and became passionate about learning more. In 2017, I earned my AMS Montessori teaching certification at the Mid America Teacher Training Institute, specializing in Infant/Toddler education. After receiving my AMS Teaching Certificate, I spent five years as a Montessori Pre-Primary Lead Teacher, then I joined Sunrise Montessori as an Assistant Director and eventually became Director. When Ms. Shannon approached me with the idea of collaborating to create a Montessori school, I eagerly embraced the opportunity. Having worked together for so many years, I knew we shared an intuitive and harmonious team dynamic, always prioritizing what’s best for our Montessori families. The Montessori Method continues to inspire and challenge me as an administrator, educator, and parent. I am excited to provide support and guidance to the families of Jarrell Montessori!
Originally from Southern California, I moved to the Austin area at 32 with my husband, Rob, and our 3-month-old son, John. It's been one of the best decisions we've ever made. Texans are incredibly welcoming and down to earth, the perfect place to raise a family. My first business, Sunrise Montessori in Round Rock, came to life when I couldn’t find the right Montessori school for John. After growing the business to two locations over a 16 year period, I sold it in 2022 to focus on new adventures, take a well-deserved post-pandemic break, and volunteer with SCORE.org as a Business Mentor to small business owners. Yet I missed owning a Montessori school, so I teamed up with Ms. Laura to offer a high quality Montessori preschool option in an area that didn't have one. Rob helps to keep things running smoothly too by repairing maintenance issues, keeping our technology humming, and crafting much of our preschool furniture and playground equipment. Though I once enjoyed being a math teacher, I’ve found my true passion as a business owner. Creating a school with Ms. Laura and our team where I’d want my son to learn, I’d enjoy working, and where students thrive is an indescribable joy.
